Magic and Variety

My 2024 has been jam packed with ups and downs and some sideways turns too, but Magic is the one constant. Up until April all of my focus was on putting on my show ‘Sherlock Holmes Meets The Magician.’ It’s easily my best work and without a shadow of a doubt my most personal. I’m really proud of the show and if I were to blow my own trumpet I would tell you that both times I have performed the show it has received a standing ovation. As it happens, I’m not a fan of blowing my own trumpet so I won’t tell you about the two standing ovations. So ignore that bit, please. The Sherlock show will DEFINITELY be on again so make sure to follow me on Instagram @magicbelfast to keep an eye on what I’m up to.

Since April I have been designing another, more intimate, card magic show that highlights my love of playing cards and delves into a secretive world of gamblers, crime, murder and mystery! But that’s all I can tell you at the moment…I WILL be announcing information soon!

This past couple of weeks I have been back in the rehearsal room, being directed by my old friend, the incomparable Christina Nelson. Many years ago Christina and I toured with a troupe of performers in the Cahoots show called ‘The Family Hoffmann.’ I’ll NEVER forget that wonderful time and being back in rehearsals with Christina is bringing back wonderful memories and is a laugh! Here’s a picture of me the other day in rehearsals messing around with legends of Circus in Belfast Timmy Hannington and Hillas Smith. My job is filled with variety and I’m utterly grateful.
